Dr. Richard Semlow
Dr. Richard (Rick) Semlow is a 1995 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. He is proud to be the first of the second generation of chiropractors in his family, where there are nine at current count.
Prior to opening Semlow Family Chiropractic in Plymouth, MI in 2019, he had worked with his family for close to 10 years in Troy, MI and in the Phoenix and Tempe areas before relocating back to Michigan.
In 2007, he completed his 120 hour certification program in pediatrics and prenatal care through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). Shortly after this completion, and working closely with the ICPA, he and several other doctors cofounded the Michigan Chiropractic Pediatric Association.
Growing up in a Chiropractic family, Dr. Semlow has had the privilege of being under chiropractic care for almost his entire life. He believes that this has helped him to stay injury free during his junior high and high school sports of soccer and track. This realization guided him towards, not only helping those of ALL ages, but helping athletes.
He has been able to help them recover from their injuries and to correcting the body to make these athletes (ranging from: youth sports, school/ travel teams, weekend warrior to Ironman participants) less prone to injuries.
Dr. Semlow is also proud to have helped seniors to become more active and to return to doing the things that they enjoy.
He is excited to help you and your family.

What our clients Say
I have been dealing with intense pain in my shoulder and upper/mid back for years. I thought it would be my new normal and I would have to learn to deal. I decided to try Dr. Semlow and after just the first visit I felt immediate relief! I have been able to sleep without waking every half an hour due to pain and I feel like I have more energy and desire to do things. He sat and listened to me and was very direct about what is going on with my body. I am excited to continue my treatments and highly recommend him to anyone who will listen. Office staff has been wonderful as well (also important to me).
I have been going to Dr Semlow for just a few months for back pain. After just a couple of visits I had noticeable improvement and now have zero back pain. Dr Semlow is very knowledgeable, personable and would highly recommend him.
I had been having problems with misaligned ribs which was causing chest pain. I saw another chiropractor for about a month with no improvement at all. Someone recommended Dr. Semlow so I went and felt relief after my first visit. I continued for a few more weeks and the problem is practically gone. I would highly recommend him. He’s very good at his job!
Dr. Semlow is the best Chiropractor I have ever had. I suffered from back pain for over 20 years which was affecting my ability to workout. After seeing 3 other Chiropractors, I finally went to see Rick. In 2 months I was back in the gym regularly. That was over 14 years ago. I see Dr Semlow regularly. Now I won't go anywhere else for any ache and pain. He always know what I need to get me back on track. Thank you Dr Rick!!!
I would recommend Dr. Semlow to anyone looking for chiropractic care. He has improved my wellness over the past 6 months. He has helped significantly with lower back and hip pain, as well, recent shoulder pain. Dr. Semlow is definitely an expert in his field and knows how to help with your wellness.
I have been to several chiropractors over the past few decades for multiple issues as a result of a lifetime of sports. Dr. Semlow has listened to my various complaints and has made it a point to attack each of them. Most chiropractors have good intentions for their patients, but Dr. Semlow has taken a personal interest in my treatment. He always asks questions regarding my individual ailments. He calls to check up on me between visits. This is someone who cares about his patients and their improvement. A+ service for sure.
I have been dealing with severe back pain from the top of my neck, down to my tailbone. I have been to 2 other Chiropractors and Dr Semlow is by far the most thorough in his investigations. He has already relieved much of my pain. I cannot wait to continue treatment and start feeling like me again.
Approximately four or five years ago I had my first visit adjustment with Dr. Rick. I have been coming to the Semlow Clinic since they were located in Rochester. Dr. Rick's method was totally different from any other I had ever had in my 60 some years. It took me a few days to recover, but he had solved my problem. I know within two adjustments I'll be back to normal.. At my age, I should be smart enough to come in at least once a month to prevent problems.
I am 79 years old. Four generations of my family are benefiting now from Dr. Rick's help. It was my parents that first began treatments at the Semlow Clinic some 30 years ago from Dr. Ron and Dr. B ob. So 5 generations of my family have found relief here from various problems. I began treatment from Dr. Rick about 2 1/2 years ago. My right leg had been numb every morning for about 2 years previous to my first visit. The numbness would go away after about 2 hours every morning. After the first treatment from Dr. Rick I no longer had that symptom at all. Another problem I have is weakness in the legs due to neuropathy. There is no medical treatment for it except an operation if it progressively worsens. The adjustments from Dr. Rick have helped a great deal to keep the pressure of the vertebrae off the discs and keep the vertebrae aligned to relieve the affect on the nerves to my legs and feet. I know that it is helping me to keep walking, relieves the discomfort and avoid the operation.
